Competition Judging

The Contest organisers are empowered to select judges suitable for each of the classes who have proved they have sufficient competition experience and knowledge of the breeds they are expected judge.

Certifiers restrictions:

There must be two examining Certifiers in all exams. Certifiers may not certify family members or cohabiters At least one of the certifiers must have no staff member in the group they are judging. 

Any financial member who has attained NDGANZ Master Groomer status may be invited at the deaccession of the current certifiers and admin to apply to start shadow judging for exam purposes 

A committee will decide which one or more of the groups is appropriate for each candidate to apprentice certify on. 

It is of the utmost importance that the apprentice certifiers attitude and demeaner be that of the level of a judge’s position. All judges must remain impartial, it is not appropriate to allow favouritism or prejudices to influence your decision making or the way you relate to each person. 

The goal of apprentice judging is to understand how scoring is done to achieve consistency across the board and how to approach the critiques for each candidate sitting workshops and exams so that they get the best result in terms of education and encouragement. 

NDGANZ Ambassadors

Long standing members may be chosen to carry the title of NDGANZ Ambassador. This is a respected voluntary position where the member represents the NDGANZ by encouraging and communicating with other groomers around New Zealand for the purposes of bringing the groomers of NZ together into our community. 

Approaching and encouraging other groomers to participate and support the NDGANZ is an important part of our educational program.
